The vibrant and joyous festival of Gudi Padwa was celebrated by Hoisting the traditional Gudi and prayer to it on the New year for the Hindus on Gudi Padwa in Mumbai on 9th of April. People were seen participating in the Shobha Rally. Women were seen dressed in traditional attire and participated in the Rally to mark the Marathi New Year Gudi Padwa. They danced their hearts out on the beats of dhol and nagadas. The festival was celebrated with full vigor and enthusiasm. Gudi Padwa ocassion signals yeh onset of the warmer days and the spring season. This year Gudi Padwa has coincided with the first day of the Chaitra Navratri and festivals like Sajibu Cheiraoba, Navreh, Cheti Chand and Ugadi that are celebrated in different parts of the country.

The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), an organisation based in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala, released a report revealing Chinese authorities' surveillance of exiled Tibetans to collect personal information. Fugitives Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya now in trouble, as India sending its best team from Central Agencies to the UK. A high-level team of officers concerned from the CBI, ED, NIA would be heading soon to the UK to expedite fugitives. Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, defence dealer Sanjay Bhandari are India’s most wanted fugitives. PM Modi has brought up the issue of the extradition of fugitives in every India-UK trade-related meeting. Time and again, the delegations from the UK have faced India’s pressure for Vijay Mallya & Nirav Modi Extradition, as per sources. Vijay Mallya was ordered to be extradited by the British judiciary in 2019 and is yet to be sent to India. Nirav Modi has been held in custody at south London's Wandsworth prison since he was arrested in 2019. India and the United Kingdom have signed an extradition treaty on September 22, 1992.

India is set to host G20 development ministers' meeting in Varanasi from June 11-13. G20 delegates arrived in Varanasi on June 11 and were accorded a grand welcome at the Varanasi airport, where Shehnai was played to welcome the delegates. Deputy Administrator of USAID Isobel Coleman also arrived at the airport. The G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting will be chaired by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a special video address at the beginning of the meeting.
