Born on October 26, 1978, Sussanne Khan is the youngest daughter of actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan and former actress-designer Zarine Katrak Khan. Sussanne has three siblings - elder sisters - Farah Khan Ali (married to DJ Aqeel) and Simone Khan (married to Ajay Arora) and younger brother-actor Zayed Khan.

Many people know Sussanne Khan as the former wife of actor Hrithik Roshan, but her identity goes beyond that. She is one of the most popular and acclaimed interior and fashion designer in the country, who has made name globally. Sussanne's mother Zarine has been a role model for her.
"Many know me as the wife of Hrithik Roshan. However very few know that I am in fact the daughter of prolific interior designer Zarine Khan," said Sussanne Khan, in a recent interview with IANS.

Sussanne Khan's father Sanjay Khan, a prominent actor in the 80s, is of mixed Afghan and Iranian descent, while her mother Zarine, known for Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963) and Ek Phool Do Mali (1969), comes from a Parsi family.
After having obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Interior Design from a college in California, Sussanne went on to work with her mother for a while before starting her own venture. She took up her first project in 1996. Sussanne was just 18.

All three sisters are steeped in the universe of aesthetics and design (jewellery for Farah, interiors and lifestyle retail for Simone and Sussanne).

It may be noted that, perhaps, the Khan sisters have been exposed to aesthetics, glamour and beauty from the moment they opened their eyes, thanks to their parents and their extended family.

"We three are so unique in our own ways, yet there is this comfort zone that helps one another in our everyday lives as moms, independent working women and most of all as human beings," Sussanne told mid-day adding, "Farah is the giver, Simone is the protector and I guess I am the philosopher; together we shall always be a force field of energy. It's a gift to be a part of this force field and I feel blessed."

On the personal front, Susssane Khan and Hrithik Roshan, childhood sweethearts, tied the knot in 2000. They have two children together, named Hrehaan and Hridhaan.
They called off their marriage, thirteen years later. Sussanne and Hrithik parted ways in 2013 and got divorced in 2014.
However, even after parting ways, they still remain cordial with each other. Hrithik and Sussanne are often spotted vacaying together, going out for movies and dinners with their two sons - Hrehaan and Hridhaan.
In fact, time and again their public appearances have brewed rumours and discussions about the two getting back together as husband and wife.
Sussanne Khan is often seen spending quality time with her sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan, where Hrithik is accompanied too, setting parenting goals, or rather co-parenting their kids with dignity.

Sussanne Khan agrees to Hollywood actor Ben Affleck's popular statement on not letting his kids pay the price of his fame. "You have to let kids be kids. Robbing them of their childhood and/or adolescence is not fair," she said.
Sussanne Khan also knows how to balance personal and professional life. Drawing a line between work and home is something she strongly advocates for. "Only by keeping that balance in check can you continue to be inspired at work and at peace at home," said Khan.
